Privacy policy

When you contact us. Our forms ask for your name, organization, email address, and phone number, plus what you tell us about your needs (for a licensing review, your organization's size and where you buy Microsoft 365). We also note which page you sent the form from. If you email or call us, we keep what you share.

Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site: pages viewed, how you arrived, approximate location (city level), device and browser type, and whether a contact form was sent. It uses first-party cookies to tell visits apart. Google Analytics doesn't store IP addresses, and we don't send it your name, email address, or anything you type into our forms.

When you visit. Like every web server, ours records basic technical information about each request: your IP address, browser type, the page requested, and the time. We use it to keep the site running, investigate problems, and block spam and abuse.

• To answer your question or request, and to prepare a proposal or quote if you ask for one
• To provide services if you become a client
• To understand which pages are useful and improve the site
• To operate and secure this website, including stopping spam and abuse
• To meet legal obligations

We don't sell, rent, or trade your information, we don't use it for advertising, and we never put it into consumer AI tools.

The only cookies this site sets are Google Analytics' (_ga and _ga_ followed by an ID), used to count visits and see how the site is used. We've turned off Google signals and advertising personalization, so this information isn't used for advertising or to follow you across other sites, and we don't use any other advertising trackers. We keep analytics data for 14 months.

You're in control:

• If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, Google Analytics doesn't load at all.
• You can turn analytics off for this browser with the control at the bottom of this page.
• Google offers a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics on every site.

Video thumbnails on this site load from YouTube's image servers, which means YouTube receives your IP address. Videos themselves play only when you click one, from YouTube's privacy-enhanced youtube-nocookie.com service, and YouTube's privacy policy applies from that point.

Only the service providers that help us run our business, such as our web host, our email and Microsoft 365 services, and Google, which provides our website analytics (see how Google uses information from sites that use its services). They receive information only so they can do that work for us. We also share information when the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of navitend, our clients, or others.

This site links to services with their own privacy policies, including our client portal, remote support (ScreenConnect), appointment booking (Microsoft Bookings), invoice payment, our store, and our applications (encourage work, EEO Training, and 3rd Party Toolbox). Their policies apply when you use them.

This policy covers this website. Information we handle on your behalf, in your systems, devices, Microsoft 365 tenant, backups, and support tickets, is governed by your service agreement with us. In short:

• We access your systems and data only to provide the services you've engaged us for, and only through accounts and tools we manage securely.
• Your data is handled by our own US-based team.
• We never put client data into consumer AI tools. That's in our written policy, and we take it seriously.
• If we learn of a security incident affecting your data, we'll tell you as your agreement and the law require.

We protect information with the same kinds of controls we put in place for our clients: encrypted connections, access limited to the people who need it, multi-factor authentication, and monitored systems. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, but we take the responsibility seriously.

We keep information only as long as we need it for the purpose you shared it, for our normal business records, or as the law requires. Server logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting.

You can ask us what information we have about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask us to stop contacting you. Some state laws give residents these rights; we honor these requests no matter where you live. We may need to confirm your identity first, and we won't treat you differently for asking.

This site is for businesses and organizations. It isn't directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information.

If we change this policy, we'll update it here and change the date at the top.
